چکیده
Newton corpuscular theory: According to Newton light energy propagates from one point to another in the form of particle. From the source of light very small tiny particles are emitted in all directions which travel with a tremendous speed 3 x 10 m/sec and when these corpuscles strike the retina of eye we feel the sensation of light. Newton attributed different colors to the different size of the corpuscles. With the help of corpuscular theory Newton could explain both the phenomenon of reflection and refraction but while explaining refraction Newton proved that the light would travel faster in a denser medium. But experimental results showed that light would travel slower in the denser medium. After few years phenomenon of interference and diffraction were discovered. Newton’s corpuscular theory could not explain this phenomenon. Due to this failures Newton’s corpuscular theory was discarded.

In this paper a simple model calculation of spin wave is given for the ferromagtic layer in ultra thin ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic bilayer. In this model the magnetic layer is assumed as an isolated layer but the effect of antiferromagnetic layer on ferromagnetic layer and unidirectional anisotropy, is given in the effective field applied on each spin. The thin layer is assumed as two-dim...
متن کاملVariational Principle and Plane Wave Propagation in Thermoelastic Medium with Double Porosity Under Lord-Shulman Theory
The present study is concerned with the variational principle and plane wave propagation in double porous thermoelastic infinite medium. Lord-Shulman theory [2] of thermoelasticity with one relaxation time has been used to investigate the problem. It is found that for two dimensional model, there exists four coupled longitudinal waves namely longitudinal wave (P), longitudinal thermal wave (T),...
متن کاملWave Propagation in Rectangular Nanoplates Based on a New Strain Gradient Elasticity Theory with Considering in-Plane Magnetic Field
In this paper, on the basis of a new strain gradient elasticity theory, wave propagation in rectangular nanoplates by considering in-plane magnetic field is studied. This strain gradient theory has two gradient parameters and has the ability to compare with the nonlocal elasticity theory. From the best knowledge of author, it is the first time that this theory is used for investigating wave pro...
متن کاملWave Propagation in Generalized Thermodiffusion Elastic Medium with Impedence Boundary Condition
In the present investigation, we study the reflection of plane waves, that is, Longitudinal displacement wave(P-Wave), Thermal wave(T-Wave) and Mass Diffusive wave(MD-Wave) in thermodiffusion elastic-half medium which is subjected to impedence boundary condition in context of one relaxatioon time theory given by Lord and Shulman theory (L-S) and the Coupled theory (C-T) of thermoelasticity. The...
متن کاملExact analytical approach for free longitudinal vibration of nanorods based on nonlocal elasticity theory from wave standpoint
In this paper, free longitudinal vibration of nanorods is investigated from the wave viewpoint. The Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory is used for nanorods modelling. Wave propagation in a medium has a similar formulation as vibrations and thus, it can be used to describe the vibration behavior. Boundaries reflect the propagating waves after incident. Firstly, the governing quation of nanoro...
متن کاملSimulation of Surface Plasmon Excitation in a Plasmonic Nano-Wire Using Surface Integral Equations
In this paper, scattering of a plane and monochromatic electromagnetic wave from a nano-wire is simulated using surface integral equations. First, integral equationsgoverning unknown fields on the surface is obtained based on Stratton-Cho surface integral equations. Then, the interaction of the wave with a non-plasmonic as well as a palsmonic nano-wire is considered. It is shown that in scatter...
